Welcome to SAMIDA

Our Mission

We are committed to the principles of Gram Swaraj (Village Self-Governance) as taught by Mahatma Gandhi.

Our mission is to uplift vulnerable sections of society by providing support, education, and resources for sustainable development.

Through community mobilization, capacity-building initiatives, and poverty alleviation programs, we strive to improve the quality of life for the rural poor.

Our Vision

At SAMIDA, our vision is to build self-reliant, empowered rural communities where the socially and economically marginalized have the resources and opportunities they need to lead dignified, fulfilling lives.

Our Journey

Founded by a group of like-minded youth under the guidance of Mr. P. Ramana, who was deeply associated with the Gandhi Peace Centre (GPC) as a volunteer, SAMIDA has been instrumental in:

  • Mobilizing rural youth for community development
  • Implementing poverty alleviation programs
  • Supporting marginalized groups in rural areas
  • Promoting sustainable agricultural practices

Our journey began in small villages, and over the years, we have grown into a strong and dedicated institution that continues to work towards the betterment of rural communities.

Our Focus Areas

SAMIDA is dedicated to:

  • Poverty Alleviation: Developing sustainable livelihoods for the poorest.
  • Rural Development: Empowering communities through education, healthcare, and skill development.
  • Youth Mobilization: Encouraging youth participation in community service.
  • Sustainable Agriculture: Promoting eco-friendly farming practices.
  • Gender Equality: Empowering women through education and skills training.

Our Programs and Services

Rural Livelihood Development

Empowering Communities for Sustainable Living

SAMIDA is dedicated to improving the livelihoods of rural communities by promoting sustainable agricultural practices, skill development, and alternative income-generating activities. Through training and resource allocation, we help families become economically self-sufficient, enabling them to lead better lives. Our livelihood programs focus on both individual capacity building and community-based economic projects.

Women Empowerment Initiatives

Strengthening Women for a Brighter Tomorrow

We believe that empowering women is key to transforming rural societies. Our women empowerment programs provide training in vocational skills, leadership, and entrepreneurship, offering opportunities for financial independence. By fostering gender equality and supporting women’s participation in decision-making processes, SAMIDA is helping to create stronger, more inclusive communities.

Youth Leadership and Development

Building the Next Generation of Rural Leaders

Youth are the future of any society, and at SAMIDA, we invest in their potential. Our youth leadership and development programs aim to engage young people in community service and empower them to become catalysts for positive change. From leadership training to community mobilization efforts, we provide young people with the tools they need to shape their futures and that of their villages.

Health and Sanitation Programs

Promoting Health and Well-Being in Rural Areas

Good health is a foundation for a productive life. SAMIDA works to improve access to healthcare and sanitation in rural communities through health awareness campaigns, mobile health clinics, and sanitation infrastructure development. We focus on preventive health care, maternal and child health, and clean water initiatives to ensure that every person has access to basic health services.

Education for All

Creating Opportunities Through Education

SAMIDA is committed to ensuring that every child in rural India has access to quality education. Our education programs focus on providing primary and secondary schooling support, scholarships for underprivileged students, and adult literacy programs. We work closely with communities to promote education as a tool for long-term development and social change.

Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation

Responding to Crisis with Compassion and Support

In times of natural disasters and crises, SAMIDA stands with the most vulnerable. Our disaster relief and rehabilitation programs provide immediate assistance to those affected by floods, droughts, and other calamities. We offer food, shelter, and medical aid, followed by long-term rehabilitation efforts to help communities recover and rebuild their lives.
